Domestic volunteer opportunities
Gala Planning Committee Members
Duration:up to fifteen-month volunteer placement

CPG is currently looking for volunteers to join our Spring 2013 Gala Planning Committee. This is the first fundraising and awareness gala that CPG will be holding to celebrate over 10 years of working with Matangwe and surrounding communities.
If you enjoy event planning and would like to help support us in our cause this would be a great placement for you.

CPG's International Volunteer Program
Each year CPG send 25-30 volunteers to Kenya to work alongside The Matangwe Community Health and Development Programme's staff, volunteers and community stakeholders.
The average three-week trip costs between $3500-$5000 depending on the time of year. From mid-June to mid-September flights tend to be more expensive rasing a volunteers travel expensives. We receommend volunteers stay for a minimum of 3-weeks allowing for time to adjust to Kenyan culture and to make the most of your international volunteer experience.

Matangwe Health Clinic, Matangwe, Kenya

The Matangwe Health Clinic is an excellent volunteer opportunity for health care professionals interested in using their skills in a rural clinic setting. The main areas of focus at the clinic include: pre and post natal care, HIV/AIDS education and treatment, nutrition, introduction to infection diseases and trauma, and introduction to chronic disease prevention.
CPG is seeking health care professionals to support the activities of the clinic through health promotion, program planning and health care leadership, data collection/evaluation and to act as relief staff to cover vacation time of existing staff.

This is an ongoing volunteer placement that requires skilled persons with varying backgrounds in construction, carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing. Volunteers in this role will work with maintenance staff at the Matangwe Community Health and Development Programme to repair, maintain and upgrade the buildings, grounds, water systems, vehicles, and electrical system at the MCHDP.
CPG is currently specifically looking for someone to help the MCHDP maintenance staff design and implement a maintenance and repair system.

Placements at The Matangwe Community Centre (MCC) will involve participating in existing programming and supporting instructors as well as taking a leadership role by holding workshops/classes in their skilled area for the community.
CPG is currently looking for volunteers to assist with program development/expansion and someone to help with special projects or lead workshops in various areas including but not limited to arts and crafts, the trades, small business and entrepreneurship, agriculture, proposal writing etc.
Inherent in all volunteer placements at the MCC is capacity building and cultural exchange.
