Life Skills
Caring Partners Global provides opportunities for life skills training to the residents of Matangwe and surrounding communities to better meet the needs of their changing cultural setting. Through the application of these skills, community members are able to generate an income and provide for their daily needs. Some examples include literacy training, resume writing, tailoring and carpentry.

The Matangwe Community Centre
Giving people the skill sets to support themselves and their families is a key step to establishing community self-sustainability. In November 2008 CPG received partial funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to work with the MCHDP to build the Matangwe Community Centre. The Matangwe Community Centre is a location for community mobilization, socialization, education and training for all ages. Through this centre the community will be able to grow in cohesion while working together to seek solutions to pressing social issues. The current focus is on life skill training programs that will be implemented at the multipurpose community centre:
- Literacy training and academic enhancement
- Skills training and Income generation opportunities
- Intergenerational mentoring
- Gender integreation and equality
- Community leadership and governance
- Spiritual support
- Cultural integration and preservation
